Program notes
Founded in 1944 by students of the Moscow Conservatory, the prestigious Borodin Quartet—the oldest active string quartet in existence—performs as part of the “Svetlanov Universe” Festival. Their concert includes Nikolai Miaskovski’s String Quartet No. 13, and the Waltz from the great 20th-century Russian maestro Evgeny Svetlanov’s very own String Quartet.
