Declared by the press as “one of the best of this genre in the world,” the Grammy Award-winning Moscow Soloists and its founder Artistic Director Yuri Bashmet have performed over 1,300 concerts in more than 40 countries on five continents, appearing in the world’s most prestigious venues and events, including Carnegie Hall, Concertgebouw, Toyko’s Suntory Hall, Berlin Philharmonie, Royal Albert Hall, Barbican Centre and most recently, at the Closing Ceremony of 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics.

The ensemble has collaborated with notable artists such as Sviatoslav Richter, Gidon Kremer, Mstislav Rostropovich, Maxim Vengerov, Vadim Repin, Shlomo Mintz, Barbara Hendricks, James Galway, Jessye Norman and Anna Netrebko, and has released numerous recordings under EMI, Sony Classical and ONYX with critical acclaim.

The ensemble was created by Yuri Bashmet in 1992, with Bashmet gathering the cream of the graduates of the Moscow State Conservatory. The growing repertoire of the Moscow Soloists is rich and diverse, comprising both masterpieces of classical music and works of contemporary composers as well as rarely performed older works. Consequently, the programmes put together by the Moscow Soloists are marked by their beautiful and interesting premieres.
