Marina Ivanova

About

Marina Ivanova studied piano and voice at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow, later taking part in masterclasses with Galina Vishnevskaya, Helmuth Rilling and Anna Reynolds.

A top prizewinner in numerous competitions, she was awarded first prize in the NEUE STIMMEN competition in 1993 with “Una voce poco fa” from Rossini’s Il barbiere di Siviglia, launching her on her career as a much sought-after soloist. In addition to permanent engagements at the Aalto Theatre in Essen and the Nationaltheater in Mannheim, she has also made guest appearances in numerous German opera houses, including those in Berlin, Cologne, Karlsruhe, Wiesbaden and Nuremberg.

 

Since 2004 she has been a regular guest artist at the Stuttgart Staatstheater and, since 2008, at the Frankfurt Opera, while also appearing at many international festivals. Her repertory includes more than 70 operatic roles. In addition Marina Ivanova is active as a concert singer whose extensive repertory encompasses many oratorios, cantatas and art songs from the Baroque to the contemporary period.
