Lilli Paasikivi is in demand for concerts at the highest level and notable performances have included:

  • Mahler's 3 with Vienna Philharmonic under Esa-Pekka Salonen.
  • Mahler's Das Lied von der Erde with Los Angeles Philharmonic under Esa-Pekka Salonen.
  • The world premiere of Shchedrin's The Enchanted Wanderer with New York Philharmonic under Lorin Maazel.
  • Mahler: Symphony No. 2 with New York Philharmonic under the baton of Alan Gilbert .
  • Mahler's Kindertotenlieder with the New World Symphony under Michael Tilson Thomas.
  • Beethoven’s Symphony No.9 with the Boston Symphony Orchestra under Christoph von Dohnanyi.

As principal soloist at Finnish National Opera, she has sung many principal roles like Carmen, Marina (Boris Godunov), Octavian (Der Rosenkavalier), Amneris (Aida). Elsewhere she made her début at the Châtelet in the role of The Pilgrim in Saariaho’s opera L’amour de loin, sang the role of Brangäne under the baton of Kazushi Ono in La Monnaie’s production of Tristan und Isolde and made her house and role-debut as Kundry in the Oper Frankfurt production of Parsifal and she sang the role of Fricka in the Aix-en-Provence and Salzburg Easter Festival Ring-cycle with Sir Simon Rattle and the Berlin Philharmonic.

Highlights in season 2012/13 include the role-debut of Eboli in a new production of Don Carlos in Finnish National Opera. She will also sing Das Lied von der Erde with London Philharmonic orchestra and Sir Mark Elder, Verdi’s Requiem both with Orchestra National de Lille and Jean-Claude Casadesus and Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra and Hannu Lintu. She will make her Moscow-debut in Brahms Alto Rhapsody with Moscow State Symphony Orchestra and Maestro Pavel Kogan.

Lilli Paasikivi is appointed to be the next artistic director of the Finnish National Opera from 1st of august 2013. She is also the artistic director of Pyhäniemi Manor concerts series.
