Biography

Although the illustrious career of her husband, Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau, overshadowed her for a while, Julia Varady, born in Roumania in 1941, led one of the greatest singing careers of her time. Further to her studies with Arta Florescu at the Bucarest Conservatoire, Juilia Varady made her debut at the Cluj Opera in 1962.
