Chiara Skerath

About

After studying the violin and the singing in Belgium, the Swiss soprano Chiara Skerath entered the Paris Conservatory (CNSMDP) and the Universität für darstellende Kunst in Vienna.

During the 2010-11 season, she performed Sivlia in Haydn's L'Isola disabitata at the Vienna Kammer Oper, Jungfrau Anna Reich in Otto Nicolai's The Merry Wives of Windsor at the Bern Stadttheater as well as Barbarina and Susanna in Mozart's Le Nozze di Figaro at the Oper Klosterneuburg festival in Austria.

In 2011-12, Chiara Skerath made her debut at the Opéra Royal de Wallonie performing Barbarina under the direction of Christian Zacharias. At the Bern Stadttheater she performed Despina in Mozart's Cosi fan tutte and at the Operklosterneuburg Festival, she sang the part of Norina in Donizetti's Don Pasquale.

Chiara Skerath is laureate of several international competitions including the 2012 Emmerich Smola Competition, the 2011 Marmande Competition and the 2010 Belvedere International Competition.

During the 2012-13 season, Chiara sang Adina (L'Elisir d'amore) at the Opéra de Metz. She also made her debut at the Salzburg Easter Festival in Wagner's Parsifal under the baton of Christian Thielemann (she sang the part of Blumenmädchen).
