Soprano Alison King, 25 born in Portland, Oregon is a recent graduate of the Yale Opera Studio. She studies with Marilyn Horne and Doris Cross.

At 16 she debuted with the Oregon Symphony in their Young Artist Concert Series, and the Coeur D’Alene Symphony. In 2011 Ms. King performed in the Kurt Moll master class at Carnegie Hall as part of the Song Continues master class series. In 2013 she debuted with Carnegie Hall's Neighborhood Recital series in collaboration with Carrie-Ann Matheson as part of the Marilyn Horne Legacy. She was a soloist in Dvoràk's Stabat Mater under the baton of internationally known choral conductor Helmuth Rilling. Roles include Anne Trulove in The Rake’s Progress, and Rosina (cover) in Il Barbiere di Siviglia at Music Academy of the West, Giulietta in I Capuleti e I Montecchi, Musetta in La Bohème and Clorinda in La Cenerentola and Brigitta in Iolanta with Yale Opera as well as Second Niece (cover) in Peter Grimes at Chautauqua Opera.

Ms. King has been a semi-finalist in the Eleanor McCollum Competition with Houston Grand Opera and won third prize in the Gerda Lissner Competition. In 2014 Ms. King also won first prize from the Opera Birmingham Competition, was a semi-finalist in the McCammon Competition and also a Boston Regional Finalist in the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions. She recently performed at the Gerda Lissner Foundation Winners Gala at the New York Athletic Club and attended the Music Academy of the West singing Micaëla in Carmen.

Upcoming performances include a concert with Opera Birmingham and the Mozart Requiem Mass with the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra.
