Yuja Wang performs Schubert, Schumann, Scriabin and Prokofiev

Verbier Festival 2010

Yuja Wang performs Schubert, Schumann, Scriabin and Prokofiev Verbier Festival 2010

About

Yuja Wang is famous for her bewildering technique at the piano, but what makes her performances unique is her ability to combine an incredible intensity, with lyricism and passion.

In her rendition of Liszt’s arrangement of Schubert Lieder, Yuja Wang elevates the sense of drama and even violence inherent in the music as the melodic lines seem to practically explode from her muscular fingers. On the edge of madness, her vision of Schumann highlights the composer’s edgy, and at times even disturbing modernity.

Finally, with disconcerting assuredness, Yuja Wang dives into the heart of the Russian soul with works by Scriabin and Prokofiev. Experience a recital bound to leave you thrilled by Yuja Wang’s extraordinary talent!
