Program notes
The Moscow Virtuosi conducted by one of the ensemble's founding member, Vladimir Spivakov: live on medici.tv!
Founded in 1979 by violinist and conductor Vladimir Spivakov, the Moscow Virtuosi gathers rising stars among Russian musicians, and bring them to the most celebrated stages around the world. The Moscow Virtuosi own a discography of over 30 records (an average of one album per year!): the programmes of these discs are the proof of how wide their repertoire is.
Gathered under the baton of Vladimir Spivakov – also the principal conductor of the Russian Philharmonic Orchestra – discover Daniil Kharinotov, a 13 year-old promising pianist, tenor Georgy Vasiliev, a specialist of the Italian repertoire (he will perform the Neapoletan song "Torna a Surriento"), soprano Anna Aglatova, soloist of the Bolshoi since 2005, and the young saxophonist Matvey Sherling.
