The wonderful collection of the Nippon Music Foundation, that owns 21 string instruments of the highest quality (19 made by Antonio Stradivari and an additional two by Guarneri del Gesu), is a living treasure. In fact, each one of these jewels is lent to a young musician, chosen among the most talented of its generation by an international jury presided over by the Maestro Lorin Maazel. In this way a unique orchestra made up of violins, violas, and cellos, created by the most famous luthier, takes its form. Ms. Shiomi, president of the Nippon Music Foundation, asked La Fugue to be the producer of this unique concert that is already highly anticipated. Because we are honored of this responsibility, and we want to provide for that night the appropriate setting, we chose the Louvre and its Auditorium, whose size and excellent acoustics are perfect for this formation and its repertoire.
