Lorenzo Soulès — Pianist

Program notes

After young Lucienne Renaudin-Vary's performance, medici.tv invites you again to the Flâneries musicales de Reims! Watch the concert of the young prodigy pianist: Lorenzo Soulès!

At only 13 years of age, Lorenzo Soulès obtains all the CNR of Paris' prices. Then, he goes to Cologne to study with Pierre-Laurent Aimard and Tamara Stefanovich. At the same time, he goes back and forth to Barcelona to study the integrale of Iberia with the talented Alicia de Larrocha. In 2012, when he was 20, he conquers the public and the jury at the prestigious Genève competition, where he wins all the prices. Discrete in nature, this inspired and vibrating musician will perform into numerous festivals, and with the "tournée des lauréats du concours de Genève" during the 20103/2014 season.

Concert's program invites us to travel. Albéniz' famous piano suite Iberia, written between 1905 and 1908 and popularized by Alicia de Larrocha's records, drives us to Andalucia. Then, Modest Mussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition leads us in the footsteps of Viktor Alexandrovich Hartmann: this suite in ten movements has been inspired by the exhibition of the artist, who have been a close friend from the composer.
