Evgeny Kissin and Sir Simon Rattle: Silvesterkonzert with the Berliner Philharmoniker

Evgeny Kissin and Sir Simon Rattle: Silvesterkonzert with the Berliner Philharmoniker

About

This year the Berliner Philharmoniker and their musical director Sir Simon Rattle welcome the New Year together with multi-awarded Russian pianist Evgeny Kissin.

Kissin's musicality, the depth and poetic quality of his interpretations, and his extraordinary virtuosity have placed him at the forefront of today's pianists. There he is again, at the Berliner Philharmonie, for the traditional New Year's Eve concert, accompanied by one of the leading orchestras of the globe, 23 years exactly after his successful performance with Herbert Karajan, who invited him to be the soloist of his Tchaikovsky Piano Concerto when the pianist was only seventeen years old!

This programme, made up of dances by Grieg, Brahms, Dvořák, Ravel, Strauss, Stravinsky, will surely enlighten the beginning of your new 2012 year...
