Evgeny Kissin plays Liszt in a recital Verbier Festival 2011

Known as a brilliant composer during his lifetime, Franz Liszt is among the greatest pianists of his time. To honor his talent, Evgeny Kissin celebrates the bicentenary of his birthday with a recital dedicated to his works.

Considered as the Paganini of the piano, Franz Liszt composed some of the most complex scores in the history of the contemporary music of his time. The inventor of the modern piano – a title which he shares with Chopin – he made the piano "speak" and crowned it "the king of the instruments."

The genius of Evgeny Kissin interpreted, with passion and accuracy as always, some of the most beautiful works by Liszt, including his Sonata in B.
