Program notes

The young Russian prodigy Daniil Trifonov live on medici.tv!

Revealed in 2011 by the Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow, where he was awarded the first prize by Valery Gergiev in person, Daniil Trifonov has become one of the most sought-after pianist of his generation. He first appeared live on medici.tv during the Moscow Easter Festival this April, where he brightly performed Prokofiev's First concerto, and then in two Chopin concerts at the Verbier Festival during the summer of 2012. Watch him now playing the Liszt Sonata in B Minor, Mozart's Fantasie in D Minor, Agosti's arrangement for piano of Stravinsky's Firebird, and a composition of his own: Rachmaniana.

"He has everything and more," said Martha Argerich about him (Interview to the Financial Times on July 8th 2011).
