Les Adieux de l'hôtesse arabe, by George Bizert, opens this concert with Victor Hugo's poem setting to music. Then, the trip continues with Ernest Chausson' Sérénade italienne , and Maurice Delage's 4 poèmes Hindou. Finally, Francis Poulenc's Fiançailles pour rire ends the cycle with six melodies on Louise de Vilmorin's poems. The Italians composers take over: three Donizetti's arias ( Me voglio fa na casa/Amore e Morte/La conocchia), and two Bellini's ones (Malinconia ninfa gentile/La ricordanza) will be followed by one of the most famous Luigi Arditi' sung waltz, Il Bacio, and, to finish, three Francesco Tosti's songs (Napoli dorme, Napoli canta/In mare/Marecchiare).
