After his brilliant recital at Verbier festival in 2012 (watch an excerpt here), Alexandre Tharaud who was awarded with a French Victoire de la Musique in the category "soloist," is back on medici.tv. With the ensemble Les Violons du Roy, he will perform a program dedicated to Mozart, Bach and Rigel. This successful collaboration is an occasion to remember their recordings of Johann Sebastian Bach's Concertos for keyboards, in which Alexandre Tharaud recorded himself each voice of the Concerto for four keyboards!
Here he interprets Bach's Keyboard Concerto No. 7 in G Minor BWV 1058, which follows Mozart's Symphony No. 29, the last one of the composer's "Salzburg symphonies." The musical radiance remains as the program unfolds with Henri-Joseph Rigel's Symphony No. 8, thus giving us the opportunity of listening this German composer, who lived in France and was Mozart's contemporary but whose works are seldom played and recorded. The concert will end on a Mozartian touch with Piano Concerto No. 23.
