Carolin Masur

About

Born in Berlin, Carolin Masur grew up in Leipzig. She studied singing at the Hochschule für Musik "Hanns Eisler"in Berlin and attended master classes with Brigitte Fassbaender, Hans Hotter, Julia Varady and Ruth Berghaus. From 1995-97, she is a member of the Coburg State Theatre company.

After performing at various venues across Germany and in Salvador (Brazil), she moved back to Berlin to improve her technique. Between 2000 and 2002, she performed at the Komische Oper Berlin, at the Handel Festival in Halle, Dresden Festival and made ​​her debut as the Composer (Ariadne auf Naxos) at the Opera National Szeged (Hungary).

From 2002 to 2005, she was a member of the Staatsoper Hannover compagny where she sang the roles of Hansel (Hansel und Gretel), Ramiro (La Finta Giardiniera), Orlofsky (Die Fledermaus), Octavian (Der Rosenkavalier). Subsequently, she sang at the Stuttgart Opera, the Theatre du Capitole in Toulouse and the Leipzig Opera, ...

Carolin Masur is also a popular concert singer: she performed with the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra, the London Philharmonic Orchestra, the Orchestre National and Orchestre Philharmonic de France and the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra and sang at the Lucerne Festival, the Beethoven Festival in Bonn, the Berlin Festival, in Japan and in Singapore.

She performed with conductors such as Christoph Eschenbach, Kurt Masur, Marek Janowski, Roger Norrington, Eliahu Inbal and Herbert Blomstedt.
