The young Turkish bass BURAK BILGILI, a graduate of the Academy of Vocal Arts in Philadelphia and of the Conservatory of the Mimar Sinan University in Turkey, has performed in many leading opera houses including La Scala, the Metropolitan Opera, Bayerische Staatsoper, San Francisco Opera, in Geneva, Florence, Vancouver, Palermo, Oslo, Savonlinna, Cagliari, Rome, Seattle, Miami, Toronto and Detroit.

Most recently he debuted with the Washington National Symphony Orchestra with Dvořák’s Stabat Mater and with the Washington National Opera and the Auckland Philharmonic Orchestra as Zaccaria in Nabucco. Future engagements include the opera houses in Cincinnati, Atlanta, Beijing, Dallas, Montreal, the Caramoor Festival and the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra.

Burak Bilgili is the winner of several international vocal competitions all over the world. He won the NEUE STIMMEN competition in 2001 with “Quand la flamme de l’amour” from Bizet’s La Jolie Fille de Perth and with “Come dal ciel precipita” from Verdi’s Macbeth.
