A leading violist on the classical music scene, Yuri Bashmet is also a Verbier Festival regular! Watch him live on medici.tv, accompanied by his ensemble, the Moscow Soloists, and a distinguished guest: Georgian pianist Khatia Buniatishvili.

He conducts the orchestra in Mozart’s Divertimento, Chopin’s First Piano concerto – performed by the young and fiery Khatia Buniatishvili – Shostakovitch’s Quartet No 13 in an arrangement by A. Tchaikovsky, and the lyrical Serenade for Strings by Tchaikovsky. The members of the ensemble were recruited 10 years ago by Yuri Bashmet in person, by the time they graduated from the Russian conservatories.
