24 Hours with Ruggero Raimondi: Don Giovanni
For many, Ruggero Raimundi is Don Giovanni; on the occasion of a master class in Salle Gaveau, he transmits his experience to young singers who are both students and admirers.
Ruggero Raimondi, the world famous Italian bass-baritone, returns to Don Giovanni, the role he interpreted on screen in the 1979 Joseph Losey screen adaptation of the opera. This time he is not the incurable seducer but the teacher of a group of young singers, a role he plays for the first time!
Together they work on respiration, nuance and rhythm and even more, Raimondi transmits the emotion and the subtle physical intensity of the work. In this film, images of famous arias in the movie are juxtaposed with the class and with the reactions of the students, who are all impressed by the talent of the maestro.
