24 hours with Beatrice Uria Monzon
The most famous French mezzo-soprano is considered as a reference in her signature role of Carmen. In this documentary, meet one of the world’s greatest voices!
The camera followed Beatrice Uria Monzon in her daily life while she presents us the house where she was born and other places which marked her life and career. She also shares numerous anecdotes on her profession and her thoughts about music and its interpretation. She also evokes her father, the Spanish painter Antonio Uria Monzon.
The second part of the film is a tribute to the mezzo-soprano since we hear some of the most beautiful arias from Carmen interpreted by Anne-Sofie von Otter, Uria Monzon’s stage partner Roberto Alagna, bass-baritone Bryn Terfel and the Berliner Philharmoniker under the baton of Claudio Abbado.
