A Crazy day in Nantes (24 hours at La Folle Journée)

2011: The Titans (Schoenberg, Strauss, Brahms, Mahler, Liszt)

Another success for the artistic director of the La Roque d'Anthéron Festival: La Folle Journée de Nantes!

The Folle Journée de Nantes is a prominent French Festival. René Martin, the artistic director of the festival, gathers a team of musicians among the most renowned French artists of our times around particular thematic inducing specific composers. The 16th edition in 2011 celebrated Brahms, Strauss and other "Titans" of the 19th century. Among the interpreters Brigitte Engerer in duo with Boris Berezovsky, Michel Dalberto, Shani Diluka, Anne Queffélec, Bertrand Chamayou, Laurence Equilbey, Renaud Capucon and the Quatuor Modigliani…

The record audience of 130 000 tickets sold is due to the research in the programs but also, according to René Martin, to "the love story he lives with the public" and to the real friendship among the artists and the artistic director.

During those 4 days, concerts follow each other at an accelerate pace which creates a particular environment for artists and the audience. In this documentary, you can follow the artists during these "crazy days" at their rehearsals, in concerts and while they meet the public: children, novice or classical music enthusiasts.
