Tugan On Tour
While the Orchestre National du Capitole de Toulouse and their music director Tugan Sokhiev are going on tour – available live on medici.tv – let's watch again the milestones of the Orchestre National du Capitole de Toulouse's past season.
From Paris to Buenos Aires...
After four concerts broadcast live from the Halle aux Grains in Toulouse (December 2011-March 2012), medici.tv hosts the orchestra in three concerts recorded in two legendary and internationally renowned venues.
The French pianists Jean-Yves Thibaudet and Bertrand Chamayou (who was just awarded his third Victoire de la musique classique) share the bill with the Russian conductor. The first one is invited by the orchestra to play the Liszt Piano Concerto No. 2, given at the Salle Pleyel in Paris, while Chamayou plays the Liszt First Piano Concerto as well as the Ravel well-known Concerto in G at the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires.
The three concert gather various influences and two distinct repertoires which are emblematic of the orchestra: the French composers (Debussy, Ravel, Berlioz) and Russian music (Moussorgski), to which the orchestra was initiated by Tugan Sokhiev.
