Verbier Festival

A journey into excellence

The Verbier Festival, created in 1994, rapidly acquired a reputation for artistic excellence and is now considered to be among the major European music festivals. During a fortnight each July, the greatest stars of the classical music world come together against the magical backdrop of the Swiss Alps.

The Verbier Festival is mainly a celebration of classical music, but there is also a special place for jazz and world music. A variety of musical experiences are on offer: from major symphonic works for choir and orchestra, to recitals in the intimate setting of a local church.

The Verbier Festival gives musicians the opportunity to perform original programmes with fellow musicians they admire, but with whom they may never have performed before. These world première performances produce innovative and exciting results, as much for artists as for audiences.

In addition to artists of international renown, there is plenty of room for the artists of tomorrow. Through the Verbier Festival Academy and the Verbier Festival Orchestra, talented young artists from all over the world participate in a creative exchange with the grand masters.

The Verbier Festival offers a total musical immersion to its audiences who come in ever greater numbers from all over the world. Every corner of Verbier beats to the rhythm of music from dawn to dusk. And for those who love the open air, many Verbier Festival Fest’Off activities are held in the heart of nature.

The result is a unique and convivial festival experience for some 40,000 concert-goers.
