Berlioz Requiem cond Leonard Slatkin

Orchestre national de Lyon. With Steve Davislim, tenor

Leonard Slatkin opens the Orchestre national de Lyon's 2012-2013 – his second one as the orchestra's music director – with the Requiem by Berlioz, the best-known Romantic French composers, born a few miles from there...

Since its creation at the Invalides in 1837, Hector Berlioz' Grande Messe des morts (Great missa of the dead) has encountered great success. For the opening of his second season at the head of the Orchestre national de Lyon, watch Leonard Slatkin live on with a huge number of musicians, including four extra brass bands and three international choirs as well as tenor Steve Daslim!
