The Orchestre du Capitole live since 2011

In 2011-2012, Tugan Sokhiev and the Orchestre National du Capitole were for the first time live on the internet, and it was on medici.tv! After a whole season of highlights at La Halle aux Grains in Toulouse, featuring Renaud Capuçon, Antoine Tamestit or Olga Borodina, medici.tv followed the Orchestre du Capitole on tour in Paris and Buenos Aires, with Jean-Yves Thibaudet and Bertrand Chamayou.

In 2012-2013, medici.tv and the Orchestre National du Capitole de Toulouse partnered again to broadcast a season gathering such thrilling artists as Tugan Sokhiev, Menahem Pressler, Giovanni Antonini, Martin Fröst... And you even witnessed the orchestra's wonderful Damnation of Faust recorded at the Musikverein in Vienna.

This 2013-14 season opened with a 100% Brahms programme conducted by Tugan Sokhiev, who celebrated his 8th birthday as the orchestra's music director. To perform the composer's highly demanding Second Piano Concerto, he invited a living legend: Elisabeth Leonskaja. In April, Tugan Sokhiev and the young, promising cellist Edgar Moreau paid tribute to Shostakovitch in a black and white concert, and two months later, talented Swedish contralto Anna Larsson sang Mahler's Symphony No. 3.

The Orchestre du Capitole's 2014-2015 season

This season of the ONCT, still under Tugan Sokhiev's baton, opened on September 18th with a concert featuring Slavonic works: Bartók's Symphony No. 9, and Tchaikovski's Piano Concerto No. 1 interpreted by young Uzbek pianist Behzod Abduraimov. One month later, we listened to Italian soprano Caterina Antonacci, an expert of Berlioz, sing at La Halle aux Grains. Finally, to top 2014 off, the conductor will offer a percussive concert with Colin Currie.
