Nicholas Angelich and Emmanuel Krivine perform Brahms
Luxembourg Philharmonic Orchestra
Johannes Brahms described his second piano concerto as a "some little piano pieces with a wisp of a scherzo". In fact it is one of the longest and most magnificent of its kind. Soloist in the Brahms’ concerto, the pianist Nicolas Angelich was born in the United States in 1970. He began studying the piano at five with his mother and entered at 13 the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique in Paris. His accomplished performance in Brahms has earned him to be compared to the legendary Radu Lupu.
