Michel Dalberto, Letter from Italy
Artist portrait

Born in Paris in 1955, Michel Dalberto imposes himself immediately with a repertoire that was believed to be out of the reach of French pianists: in 1975 he won a succession of prizes: Haskil Clara, the first prize at the Mozart contest of Salzburg and the first prize at the Leeds International Competition, which established him as a real Mozart expert of our time.

A demanding musician, unwilling to make concessions, attentive to the message of a poetic work, he plays in the greatest concert halls and festivals in Europe, Japan and Canada. With a sumptuous tone and an outstanding musical acuity, at ease in recitals as much as in chamber music, Michel Dalberto is the very pinnacle of French piano music.
