Manchester Camerata performs high quality chamber music for over 40 years. Creativity and energy are the hallmarks of Camerata’s work and reflect the spirit of its home city, Manchester, where the orchestra is in residence at the Royal Northern College of Music, and The Bridgewater Hall.
Since September 2011, Gábor Takács-Nagy has taken up the role of music director of the ensemble, a role filled by Douglas Boyd who was with the orchestra for ten years. The great Hungarian musician, who was a founding member of the legendary Takács Quartet, has experienced a brilliant carreer of conducting within the last 10 years.
Gábor Takács-Nagy is of course no stranger to Manchester Camerata and has conducted several concerts for Camerata over the past two seasons (notably one performance with long-time friend Miklós Perényi, broadcast live on medici.tv).
This season again, you will be able to attend Manchester Camerata concerts through the webcasts we do on medici.tv.
