Location
The new theatre designed by the Italian architect Vittorio Gregotti has been completed in May 2007 and inaugurated by the Aix-en-Provence Festival with a performance of Richard Wagner's Die Walküre. The building is an architectural challenge. It is composed of an entire curve, with a seating capacity of 1,350, 950 of which are in the stalls and it is situated in the area between the new town and the historical centre of Aix.
