Born in Tbilisi, Georgia, the Russian pianist Elisabeth Leonskaja was a close friend of Sviatoslav Richter, with whom she gave several concerts. Her studies at the Moscow Conservatory formed her to Russian composers; but her current repertoire is among the vastest.
