Born in 1994, Edgar Moreau is a student of Philippe Muller at the Paris Conservatory (CNSMDP) which he entered at the ange of fourteen.
A 18 year-old cellist, Edgar Moreau has recently become of the most sought-after young promising musicians on the classical scene. Noticed in 2009 during the Rostropovich Competition in Paris, where he receives the Prize of the Young Soloist, he gets international fame in 2011 when he wins 2nd prize at the Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow at the age of 17. Since then, he has been invited by several orchestras and concert halls worldwide.
Edgar Moreau has taken part in master classes with internationally renowned cellists such as Mario Brunello, Anner Bylsma, Miklos Perenyi, Gary Hoffman, Lynn Harrell, Frans Helmersson and David Geringas. He has also participated in several festivals and academies, notably the Verbier Festival Academy, the Ensembles in Residence at the Festival of La Roque d’Anthéron, the Acathes Festival in Metz, and the Colmar Festival.
