Concerts at the Louvre Auditorium
The Louvre Auditorium's programmes are mostly made up chamber music works. Concerts are scheduled as parts of various series whether in connection to the Louvre museum's exhibitions (Copier-Créer, Leonardo da Vinci, Primatice...), or in order to make the audience discover rare repertoires (Farrenc, Gernsheim...) and works by young composers.
Every year, the thursday concerts are dedicated to young artists aged less than 25 years old and who make their debuts in Paris. Thus, it is at the Louvre that the Parisian audience heard for the first time such prestigious artists as Maxim Vengerov, Vadim Repin, Bo Skovhus, Hélène Grimaud, Yefim Bronfman, Joshua Bell, Olga Guriakova, Truls Mork, Marie-Elisabeth Hecker, Boris Berezovsky, Adam Laloum, Sharon Kam, Lang Lang, Christian Tetzlaff, Daniil Trifonov, the Artemis Quartet, the Modigliani Quartet, the Jerusalem Quartet...
In 25 seasons of existence, the Louvre Auditorium acquired worldwide fame.
Thanks to the partnerships with France Musique (1989) and medici.tv (2009), the Louvre auditorium's concerts have been broadcast in France and abroad, helping the young artists in their careers.
