24 hours with William Christie
A tribute to the baroque conductor
Harpsichordist, conductor, musicologist, and teacher, William Christie is the pioneer of the French rediscovery of baroque music. Thanks to his erudition and his passion, the vast French repertoire of the 16th and 17th century has been revealed to the public.
William Christie’s career took a U-turn in 1979, when he created his own vocal and instrumental ensemble, Les Arts Florissants. This documentary follows him for his entry to the Académie des Beaux-Arts, at the place of Marcel Marceau, and during the concert for the thirtieth anniversary of the Arts Florissants at the Opéra Comique, in 2009.
