Alain Duault spend a day with the soprano Inva Mula. She comes from Albania but lives in Paris. In the documentary, she looks back to her entire career and explains her love for the Palais Garnier, where she will interpret the title role of Charles Gounod’s Mireille.
Who is Mireille? She is a young and virginal character but with unexpected heroic qualities. The camera follows Inva Mula, showing us her collaboration with the music director, their work on the diction, and on the particular qualities of the character, light and courageous at the same time.
It is a privilege to observe Inva Mula working. We follow her behind the scene, where, among other secrets of her profession, she reveals that, on stage, since the very first line, she feels that she totally identifies with Mireille.
